Daniel Busi, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, LFA
Manager, Sustainability & Government Relations
Mr. Busi is an environmental professional with special expertise in the sustainable design and construction of high-performance buildings. Daniel is managing director of Praxis Net Zero, a division of Praxis dedicated to administering LEED certifications, enhancing building energy efficiency, and implementing renewable energy components and demand response programs. He is also managing director of the U.S. Green Building Council-Long Island Chapter (USGBC-LI) and chair of the organization’s Emerging Professionals Committee. He serves as the account manager for the Long Island Steel Trade Association and the Drive Electric Long Island Coalition, and he represents the Suffolk County Village Officials Association on the Suffolk County Community Choice Aggregation Task Force. Mr. Busi is also on the Board of Directors of Green Inside and Out, an organization focused on empowering and educating consumers about better alternatives for low-environmental impact living.
In addition to being a LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, and LFA, he is educated in GPRO: Operations & Maintenance, an accredited International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) installer, and OSHA-10 certified.
Among Mr. Busi’s primary responsibilities are organizational planning, client support, and nonprofit management. Prior to his employment with Praxis, Daniel worked with an energy efficiency engineering firm, Long Island-based solar-electricity provider, and the University of Vermont sustainability office.
Mr. Busi earned a bachelor of science degree in environmental science with a concentration in green building design and community development from the University of Vermont. He is an expert skier, world traveler who has visited 38 countries, and is currently teaching himself Spanish to become bilingual. Daniel resides in Huntington, New York.
