Deborah Young

Director of Operations

Ms. Young is a communications professional with over 30 years of experience in public relations and the publishing industry. Debby oversees Praxis’s media relations, financial management and event planning. In addition, she manages the Suffolk County Village Officials Association (SCVOA) and the day­-to-day financial operations of the U.S. Green Building Council-Long Island Chapter (USGBC-LI).

As a seasoned writer, Debby works with a diverse group of Praxis clients to produce effective and timely public relations pieces including press releases, executive bios, newsletters and website/social media content. Prior to joining Praxis, Debby worked for communications leaders including Random House, Simon & Schuster and Macmillan.

Ms. Young earned a bachelor’s degree in English and speech pathology from SUNY Buffalo and a master’s degree in language development from Harvard University. She has received numerous publishing awards including: USA Book News, Best Books; Independent Publishers Award; Parent’s Choice Award; and ForeWord Magazine’s Book of the Year Award. Debby resides in Old Bethpage, New York, with her husband and two children.
