Peter Tonna serves as Director of Public Affairs for Praxis Public Relations, Inc. Peter handles client services, strategic initiatives, and has years of expertise in land use, commercial development, labor relations, healthcare, and employee benefits.

Passionate about Long Island, Peter has worked to raise the bar for smart regional growth with a fair and productive approach. He served as Vice Chairman of the Town of Huntington Zoning Board of Appeals from 2014 to 2021 and during his tenure, evaluated and voted on hundreds of commercial and residential applications. Peter also spent over 14 years as a healthcare consultant and liaison for organized labor unions throughout New York.

He is a member of the Energeia Partnership at Molloy University and supports many local charities and organizations including Project Hope, Helping Hands, and Maryhaven Center of Hope. He is a board member of his local PAL lacrosse program and The Rehabilitation Institute (“TRI”) a partner under the Family Residence and Essential Enterprises Inc. network, which is dedicated to assisting individuals of all abilities to reach their full potential and thrive in their communities.

Peter also co-manages the Praxis Young Professionals Network, a platform established to encourage forward-thinking Long Island-based companies to involve their young professionals in business networking, charitable events, and regional engagement.

Peter earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from State University of New York, Oneonta and resides in Huntington with his wife Elena and children, Lucas, Reid and AJ.
